Every foundation has a story. Ours begins with Marshall - a brave, incredible boy whose journey inspired a community to come together in ways we never imagined.
Shortly after starting second grade, Marshall was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Despite the challenges of chemotherapy, Marshall’s resilience and infectious smile have remained, inspiring everyone around him. On March 8, 2025, Marshall reached remission, a milestone in his ongoing journey to stay cancer-free. Chemotherapy treatments will continue through March 2028.
The Miles for Marshall 5K started as a simple idea: honoring Marshall's courage while helping families facing pediatric cancer. What began with a few steps quickly turned into a movement filled with love, support, and action. The impact has been enormous - and it all started with Marshall.
Building on the success of the Miles for Marshall 5K, we created the Marshall Kids Cancer Foundation to support even more children and families facing pediatric cancer.
